Nino Frassica & Los Plaggers Band come to Forte Arena with their show “Tour 2000/3000″
Forte Arena hosts a night to experience by the comedy and music of Nino Frassica
Saturday, August 2, 2025, 9.00 pm, the Arena under the stars at Forte Village will house the concert-cabaret “Tour 2000/3000”: on stage Nino Frassica, comedian, actor and radio host, accompanied by Los Plaggers Band. An entertaining show made of music, funny scenes and unmissable moments of improvisation.
A summer full of art, music and emotions at the Forte Arena, a wonderful amphitheater under the stars within the rich natural biodiversity of Santa Margherita di Pula, enchanting location in South Sardinia located near the most beautiful beaches of the island and some iconic places of this land, like the ruins of the ancient town of Nora and the archaeological park of Pula, which for years has stood out for its rich and wide program of shows designed to embrace the tastes and needs of all audience.
And so, if last year this prestigious Sardinian stage hosted Italian and international music stars such as Renato Zero, with two dates of his concert-event “Autoritratto”, the legendary Pooh, with their Sardinian stage for “Amici per sempre tour”, and the multifaceted British artist Sting, as well as the magical musical Peter Pan that made adults and children dream by taking them straight to the dreamlike atmospheres of “Neverland”, the summer season 2025 will feature the overwhelming irony of Nino Frassica and Los Plaggers Band, ready to conquer the stage with a hilarious show, “Tour 2000/3000”, mixing music with comedy surrounded by a contagious festive atmosphere.
The show will include over one hundred of the most iconic songs in Italian and international music history, such as “Cacao Meravigliao”, “Grazie dei fiori bis”, “Mamma mia dammi cento lire” and the unforgettable TV themes from the Seventies and Eighties like “Portobello” and “Tuca tuca”, reinterpreted with the Sicilian comedian’s usual irony and brilliance. Together with him on stage, the six extraordinary musicians of the Los Plaggers Band (a name with a clear reference to the famous American vocal band “The Platters”, combined with the concept of “plagiarism”), formed by Ivano Girolamo (piano and vocals), Natale Pagano (keyboards), Umberto Bonasera (guitar and vocals), Fabrizio Torrisi (sax), Angelo Musumeci (bass) and Giuseppe Pullia (drums).
Each song will give life to a powerful parody of musical imagination and contemporary socio-cultural panorama, in a game of self-criticism and reflection beyond mere entertainment to become a fun and engaging exploration of both our collective and individual identity.
Nino Frassica, the art of smiling and the love for entertainment
Born in Messina on December 11, 1950, Nino Frassica – officially Antonino Frassica – has been one of the most famous and beloved faces of Italian comedy and artistic scene for over four decades. His career began in the 70s in amateur theatre, fertile ground where he began develop that unique and inimitable style that would later become his signature: a surreal comedy, made of linguistic games, non sense improvisations and irresistible paradoxes.
Anyway, his big leap only came in 1985 thanks to the meeting with famous singer-songwriter and TV author Renzo Arbore, who immediately acknowledged his extraordinary talent and called him to enter the cast of his cult variety show “Quelli della notte”, a messy lounge that hosts a gang of weird characters, in which Nino plays an unlikely “seminarian” who, with endearing jokes and ungrammatical speeches, immediately managed to win the hearts of the audience. His success was further reinforced two years later with the historic satirical show by Renzo Arbore and Ugo Porcelli “Indietro tutta!”, in which the Sicilian comedian played the role of the “distracted host”, revolutionizing the language of Italian TV.
A multifaceted and unpredictable artist, Frassica did not limit himself only to television comedy. Over the years, he successfully explored cinema, working with directors such as Mario Monicelli, for whom he acted in the film “I picari” (1987), Carlo Vanzina in “Sotto il vestito niente – L’ultimafilata” (1988) and Leonardo Pieraccioni in “Il cielo in una stanza” (2001), as well as in numerous theatre plays including “Il malato immaginario” by Molière, without ever losing his own stylistic figure mixing absurd with biting, yet respectful comedy.
The vast audience then learned to know him also in the role of Marshal Cecchini in the long-running television series “Don Matteo” where, alongside Terence Hill, he shaped a tender, comical and deeply human character, much loved by viewers of all ages, and still as a regular guest on the famous Sunday night show hosted by Fabio Fazio “Che tempo che fa”. He also developed an intense radio activity, collaborating for “Programmone” on Rai Radio 2, in which he continued to experiment comic languages and interact with the audience in an original and clever way, and still he also tried his hand at writing cult books such as “Sani Gesualdi Superstar” (1985), “Vipp – Tutta la Veritàne” (2021) and “Paola” (2022).
Through the collaboration with Los Plaggers Band, his latest show “Tour 2000/3000” comes to life, which has been touring the main Italian stages for over two years, and this summer – more precisely on the evening of Saturday, August 2, 2025 – will come to Sardinia, at the exclusive “arena under the stars” of the Forte Village Resort. A show that combines cabaret with live music in a surprising and very entertaining formula, in which the audience becomes protagonist by singing, dancing and letting themselves to a real collective celebration of our music and culture.
