Second edition of Filming Italy Sardegna Festival

13 – 16 June 2019: the Filming Italy Sardinia Festival at Forte Village Resort for its second edition.

On Saturday 18th May at the grand Cinema Festival in Cannes was presented the second edition of “Filming Italy Sardegna Festival” directed by Tiziana Rocca. The festival of previews from around the world will be held from the 13th to the 16th of June at Forte Village Resort in Santa Margherita di Pula, Sardinia, and at the UCI Cinemas in Cagliari, with a special presenter: actress Eva Longoria.

The festival will surprise its public of the second edition with a set of around 30 worldwide previews and a selection of 5 films selected by the weekly magazine Variety.

Since there is double the amount of titles to show, so also are the number of cinema halls required. The event will be hosted in very original locations: the Cinema Cristallo and the innovative Arena at Forte Village, spectacular modern areas inside the natural amphitheater and open to everyone for free. The objective of this edition of Filming Italy Sardegna Festival is to introduce the big screen to new generations: not only previews of films, there will also be tv series, documentaries and short films. The festival will begin with the most important cinematographic event: the Italian preview of “Domino”, a film directed by the great author Brian De Palma which will be released on the 27th of June 2019. The film was shot partly in Sardinia and is proud to have two great stars in the cast from the famous series “Game of Thrones”, Nikolai Coster-Waldau and Carice van Houten.

Regarding the previews of television series, during the event there will be the first episode of the novel series “Caccia al Ladro”, with ten episodes, a worldwide production by Viacom International Media Networks Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa e Viacom International Studios Latin America.

The grand event is conducted with eco-sustainable attention so to publicly expose the use of natural resources. A completely ecological festival with zero impact on the environment, with an original “green carpet” and a limited edition of prizes made with eco-sustainable materials by Maestro Gerardo Sacco.

Many important figures will attend the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival 2019: among the first names announced at Cannes, there is Paola Cortellesi, Francesca Archibugi, Claudia Gerini, Riccardo Milani and Madalina Ghenea, who will be conducting the solidarity evening on Saturday 15th of June.

Among the international guest, there will be names like Eva Longoria, whom, after taking part in presenting the festival in Cannes, will be inaugurating the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival on the 13th of June at Forte Village Resort. The American actress, famous from her part in the television series “Desperate Housewives”, is now producing the comedy “24-7” of which she is protagonist and producer together with Paul Feig.

At the festival of Cannes, there was also model Annabelle Belmondo and actress Catrinel Marlon, who will be closing the festival on the last evening, Sunday 16th June.

This marvelous festival featuring Cinema and Television will be in collaboration also this year with APA, Associazione Produttori Audiovisivi, presided by Giancarlo Leone. The event is also in collaboration with UCI Cinemas, and held in the structure of Forte Village Resort and supported by the Patrocinio of the Regione Autonoma Della Sardegna, by the municipality of Cagliari, by the Consorzio Costa Smeralda and by the Embassy of the United States in Italy.
